Canada is getting its first Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and here's where

Construction has begun on Canada’s first Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, slated to open in the next few years. Here’s what to know about the newest tourist and entertainment hub coming to Ottawa.

Though it’s a few years behind thanks to the pandemic, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino finally has an opening timeline. According to hotel representatives, its completion is planned for spring 2025, taking over the Rideau Carleton Casino.

The new destination will feature a 150-room hotel including 22 suites; a gaming floor with 1,500 slot machines, 40 live action table games, Sportsbook, high-limit gaming, and a Baccarat room; A 1,800-seat Hard Rock Live theatre with standing room for 2,200; 10 restaurants, bars, and lounges, as well.

But that’s not all. You can also expect its iconic Hard Rock Café and Council Oak Steakhouse to be included in the mix, alongside its Rock Shop and Unity Store, too.

“We are excited to be one step closer to bringing our iconic brand and rich music history to the people of Ottawa and the surrounding region,” said Jon Lucas, Chief Operating Officer, Hard Rock International.

“I wish to thank the provincial and municipal elected officials who helped us get here today. We are especially grateful to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) who have been incredibly supportive in helping make this possible. We appreciate our partnership with them.”
